You might not think of skin as an organ but our skin is the largest organ in the human body and acts as a defence against injury, disease and infection. It also protects us from the elements, e.g. the sun.

However, things can and do go wrong. The skin is an extremely efficient organ but like anything in life, things can and do go wrong. So it is not unreasonable to expect spots, skin rash, sunburn or cold sores along the way.
